FEEDER COMPETITION STRONG

Total Yarding: 296

Agents yarded 296 head at Mortlake comprising 149 export and 136 trade cattle as well as 11 bulls. Quality overall was very plain and mixed in comparison to last week’s offering being a typical winter yarding. 

Not all of the regular buyers were present. Feeder competition was again strong purchasing the suitable grown and trade cattle on offer. The sale was firm over all categories. 

Yearling Steers and Heifers made between 410c and 528c/kg. Grown Steers and heifers making between 378c and 470c/kg. Manufacturing Steers sold to 368c/kg. 

Best Beef cows to 380c/kg with the general run making between 324c and 370c/kg. Dairy Cows sold from 248c to 284c/kg with beef bulls selling to 344c/kg.
