Prices were dearer in a reduced sized yarding of 409 mixed quality cattle. The usual processors attended and most operated fully in a dearer market. Grown steers were 10c higher, manufacturing steers sold 5c/kg dearer. The grown heifers were up by 10c and young cattle sold to stronger competition, especially from restockers, to be 10c/kg dearer. Cows again sold 15c/kg higher over all weights and grades. The yarding comprised of 189 young cattle, 30 grown steers, 179 cows and 11 bulls.
Vealers made from 265c to 310c, yearlings were from 260c to 309c with restockers paying 320c/kg. Grown steers sold from 260c to 312c and the heifer portion were from 250c to 300c with manufacturing D2 steers at 240c to 260c/kg. The C3 and C4 beef bred cows were from 248c to 275c, with/ D2 cows from 208c to 248c and the D1 cows made between 192c and 224c/kg.
