MARKET REPORT-PRIME CATTLE- 2 NOVEMBER, 2020

Elders Kerr & Co sold a excellent pen of Angus Bullocks on behalf of D McKinnon with 3 heavy bullocks going under the hammer for 386c/kg weighing 713kg per head! Another pen of 8 Angus Bullocks making 388c/kg returning $2575.35! 

Total Yarding:  665

Agents yarded 665 cattle at Mortlake this week, with the overall offering very good. Not all the regular processors were present and active as well as feeders, who were very active in a market that was firm for the good milk vealers, trade cattle, cows and manufacturing steers with the heavy grown steers and heifers being 5c to 10c/kg softer. The yarding consisted of 271 bullocks, 217 trade cattle, 172 cows and 5 grown bulls.

Milk vealers to the trade made up to 444c/kg. Feeders made to 456c/kg. Yearling steers to the trade sold from 365c to 436c, with a heifer portion making from 364c to 430c, feeders paid up to 405c/kg. The grown steers made from 340c to 388c while grown heifers sold from 314c to 375c/kg. Manufacturing steers made from 270c to 343c/kg.

Heavy beef bred cows sold from 300c to 326c/kg. Medium weight beef cows made from 264c to 295c/kg. The very well covered dairy cows sold from 270c to 291c/kg. Medium weight cows, dairy bred, made from 210c to 270c/kg. Grown beef bulls to 272c/kg.
