A great turnout of over 4000 cattle today at our May monthly store sale with Grown Steers making up to 323c/kg, mostly ranging between 290-323c/kg. The weighed Weaner Steers made up to 315c/kg with most making between 290-315c/kg and the open auction feature line Steers topping at $850, with most making between $650-750/hd.

The Grown Heifers today reached a pleasing top of 338c/kg, mostly making between 260-330c/kg, and the weighed Weaner Heifers ranged from 260-300c/kg.

In general the cattle presented in excellent condition considering the season the way it has been. Competition was keen and there was a lot of demand from South Australia, Feedlots and local re-stockers.

There were three excellent feature lines in today’s sale, including the Gilmour Quirk Partnership cattle which presented in fantastic condition and topped at $850/hd for 272 steers.

The Moyne Falls cattle also presented very well and topped at $845/hd for 500 steers, while the Toora West Heifers also appeared in terrific order, topping at 338c/kg with the majority making 330c/kg.

Overall the sale was firm to dearer on lighter cattle to last month with a very large crowd in attendance. It was also great to welcome Member for Wannon and Minister for Education the Hon Dan Tehan MP to the WVLX saleyards today to check out our world-class facility.
