There was an excellent quality yarding of feature females at Thursday’s WVLX Feature Female sale in Mortlake, with cattle presented in stronger condition this season.

A couple of feature lines included herd dispersals on account of Grasslands and Blains.

Grasslands had a pen of 22 PTIC Angus heifers weighing 774kg that topped at $4360ph, as well as a pen of 24 PTIC Angus cows weighing 790kg that topped at $4440ph.

There was also a feature entry from Nampara who consign cattle every year. Their Angus heifers weighing 613kg topped at $4100ph, while their Angus & Black Simmental/Hereford X heifers topped at $4025ph.

Donnan Family Farming had a pen of 15 Speckle Park cows and calves that topped the category at $4475ph.

It was great to see a lot of buying competition from a large area as well from Auctions Plus who bid constantly throughout the day.

All in all, it was another strong sale with great results for vendors who are to be congratulated for presenting their cattle in such top condition.
