SMALLER YARDING AT TODAY’S PRIME MARKET

PHOTO: These quality Angus Heifers sold by LMB Livestock made a very high 476c/kg. 1 returned $1676 for Touchstone Pastoral, while the other 3 returned $2055ph for BW Grant.

Agents penned a plain to good selection of 340 cattle in a relatively equal priced sale. A near regular following of buyers attended with restockers purchasing most of the young cattle and about half the grown steer yarding.

The majority of the young cattle sold from 380c to 473c with restockers going to 485c/kg. Grown steers made from 390c to 419c with restockers paying to 413c/kg.

Beef bred cows made from 311c to 345c with the less conditioned cows making from 215c to 238c/kg. A single, better covered dairy cow made a top of 310c while the leaner cows sold from 242c to 264c/kg. Beef bred bulls sold from 252c to 256c with one restocker paying 270c/kg.
