Agents yarded 236 at WVLX Mortlake. Quality overall was very plain and mixed being a typical winters yarding. Not all of the regular buyers were present. The feeder competition was present, however, all were not operating as strongly as previous markets.
The sale was generally firm for most categories with the exception of secondary cattle which were cheaper by 20c/kg as were light dairy cows. Vealers with shape made to 448c/kg. Yearling Steers and Heifers made between 380kc and 480c/kg. Grown Steers and heifers were making between 344c and 470c/kg.
Best beef cows sold to 380c/kg with the general run making between 310c and 370c/kg. Dairy Cows sold from 241c to 290c/kg with cows back to the paddock selling from 266c to 338c/kg. Beef bred bulls to 352c/kg to be stronger by 7c/kg.
