The usual processing companies and restockers attended the mixed quality penning of 845 cattle, 240 less than last week. Not all buyers operated fully but restockers were very active. Vealers sold up to 10c/kg cheaper with yearling averages basically unchanged, except for restocker yearlings which were a little dearer. Grown steers were close to unchanged but the lighter weights and Friesian steers sold 5c/kg higher. Cows were 5c dearer with some poorer conditioned light weights 10c/kg higher.

The better vealers sold from 425c to 475c, yearlings made 372c to 455c and restockers paid to 470c/kg. The plain quality yearlings were between 250c and 354c/kg. Grown steers sold from 350c to 377c with lighter weights to 402c and restockers paid to 403c/kg. The crossbred and older steers made 330c to 355c with a top sale at 363c and Friesians sold from 310c to 320c/kg.

Beef cows made 280c to 322c with restockers paying to 334c/kg. The odd few dairy cows were between 248c and 250c with light conditioned cows from 234c to 250c/kg. Plainer conditioned cows sold between 190c and 228c with some down to 175c/kg.
