Additional restocker competition helped some young cattle sales lift up to 30c/kg and suitable cows hold firm. Most young cattle averaged unchanged to slightly dearer as did grown steers. Friesian steers were 15c to 20c dearer and beef cows lifted 10c to 15c/kg. The poor to plainer conditioned cows averaged 20c cheaper and beef bulls gained 5c/kg. The yarding of 653 head was 193 more and comprised of a mixed selection in quality.
Vealers to restockers made up to 607c while yearlings to restock sold from 430c to 600c and processors paid 425c to 466c/kg for their few, better quality yearlings. The plainer and dairy bred yearlings were mostly between 325c and 390c/kg.
Grown steers made 428c to 477c with restockers going to 486c/kg. The older bullocks were between 360c and 422c and Friesians made 350c to 380c/kg.
Beef cows sold from 310c to 366c and leaner dairy cows made 252c to 330c/kg, aided by keener restocker competition. The poor to plain conditioned cows were between 190c and 255c with very poor down to 150c/kg. Beef bulls made 330c to 360c/kg.
