COWS & MANUFACTURING STEERS 5-10C STRONGER

Numbers rose by 234 head for a total of 508 cattle at Mortlake comprising 326 export and 177 trade. Most of the regular buyers were present however not all were fully active. Feeder competition was very active for grown cattle as well as trade cattle. The quality on offer was better than previous offerings. The sale was firm over most categories with the exception of the cows and manufacturing steers being 5c to 10c/kg stronger. 

A larger number of vealers on offer made from 594c to 630c/kg with most going back to the paddock. Yearling Steers and Heifers to the trade made between 480c/kg and 570c/kg. Grown Steers and Heifers were making between 430c and 520c/kg for feeder orders. Manufacturing Steers were making between 345c and 460c/kg. 

The general run of Beef cows made between 378c and 418c/kg. Very few dairy cows were offered and sold to a top of 348c/kg. Cows back to the paddock sold from 292c to 365c/kg. Beef bred bulls realized a top of 378c/kg.
