Total Yarding : 902

After missing last weeks sale due to the Australia Day public holiday agents yarded 902 cattle at Mortlake today. The overall quality was good there was a very strong contingent of buyers this week with an additional 2 processors and 3 extra feeders together with the normal restockers who operated in a firm to dearer market this week. The yarding consisted of 100 bullocks, 512 trade cattle, 270 cows and 13 grown bulls.

Steer and heifer 3 score vealers to the trade made to 250c/kg. Yearling steers to the trade, 3 and 4 score, made from 256c to 304c and the heifers made from 252c to 290c, with feeders paying up to 291c/kg, to be firm. The C3 and C4 grown steers made from 246c to 309c and the heifers made from 250c to 305c, being 10c dearer this week, with feeders paying up to 280c/kg.

Manufacturing steers made from 206c to 272c, these being 10c/kg dearer. The offering of cows was predominantly C3 and C4 cows and these made from 225c to 273c and the C2 cows sold to 230c/kg. The light D2 cows sold to 210c and the very light E1 cows made between 170c and 194c, with all cows being 15c/kg dearer. Bulls to the trade made between 200c and 240c/kg, to be firm.
