Today Western Victoria Livestock Exchange held its first ever Store Sale interfaced with AuctionsPlus and Outcross. The April Store Sale proved to be incredibly successful with 70 registered buyers on site and 32 active bidders. Online we had 22 active bidders and 9 successful buyers. Online bidders purchased 71 out of the 180 lots on offer which was just over 28% of the yarding. There were a staggering 2690 catalogue views on AuctionsPlus and 358 bidders registered to view and bid online! Our Facebook livestream video received over 2700 views and overall it was an extremely positive sale with all agents and buyers sticking to our strict COVID-19 restrictions.

There were just under 560 grown steers on offer today that made an average of 380-400c/kg, with the top pen going under the hammer for 424c/kg and reaching $1908.50 per head. A large yarding of weighed weaner cattle were presented today with the steer portion topping at 467c/kg or $1694.23 per head with the bulk of the portion making 400-430c/kg. The weighed weaner heifers topped at 394c/kg or $1467.00 per head. Grown heifers topped out at 394c/kg or $1632.00 with the majority of heifers making between 360-380c/kg.

There was a small yarding of cows and calves today however a pen of 8 Angus x cows with 3 month old calves at foot were purchased by an online bidder snatching them up for $2240.00 per head. 49 preg tested empty cows went under the hammer with the top pen making 298c/kg or 1277.30 per head.
