The official numbers are in and the WVLX first prime market will sell close to 2,500 cattle at its new saleyards on Monday.

WVLX Manager Tim Nowell said the numbers have far exceeded their expectations.

“We were expecting over 1,000 head of cattle, but 2,472 is just amazing” Mr Nowell said.

“We are so grateful to all our producers, agents, buyers and the community for their support over the last 24 hours. It’s an incredible vote of confidence and we’re just thrilled with the result.”

Monday’s prime market starts at 9am after an official opening at 8.30am and a charity auction in the new special selling ring, raising money for the Let’s Talk Foundation, Abbeyfield, Royal Flying Doctors and the Country Education Foundation..
