LET’S TALK STORE SALE

Our Let’s Talk Store Sale is shaping up to be a great one! Not only do we have some great cattle booked in but we will be raising awareness and money for a very worthwhile cause.

With the high rate of mental health issues within the farming and broader community, WVLX Manager Tim Nowell said it was time we did something to help this cause.

“We know plenty of vendors, staff, agents and community members that have been affected by mental health issues and we’re only too happy to help start the conversation and break down some of these walls,” Mr Nowell said.

“We invited the Let’s Talk team out to the Mortlake yards when we were first under construction and we know the important and powerful work that they do, and so we were keen to see what else we could do to help raise their profile.”

The Let’s Talk Store Sale which starts at 10am on Thursday will be preceded by a presentation at 9am in the cafe from the Let’s Talk team, including founder Jane Fitzgibbon, of which all community members are invited to attend.

WVLX will be providing free barista coffee for those that attend the presentation, and there will be a silent auction running throughout the day to help raise funds for the foundation.

Some of the great items up for silent auction include a car service at Mortlake Motors, Dog food from Roberts Farm Supplies, Bull tests by the Terang & Mortlake Veterinary Clinic, an Ice Chest from Elders and some AFL Football tickets. The major item up for grabs is a days excavation hire by Tim Clingan, which is worth in excess of $1500.

There will also be a Counsellor from Well Ways onsite for the day available for free private consultations and there will be a Hereford Heifer and it’s calf auctioned off throughout the sale with proceeds going to the cause.

All money raised from the day will be used by the Let’s Talk Foundation to provide professional mental health workshops in schools within the local and surrounding community.
