MARKET REPORT-STORE SALE-17 DECEMBER, 2020

Elders Kerr & Co sold a pen of 14 Grown Angus steers today on behalf of  GD & SE Ferguson. The steers weighed in at 457kg on average and went under the hammer for 423c/kg or $1935.23!

Yarding: 3’477

The December Store Sale was the last sale for the year at WVLX. The Sale met expectations as agents yarded 3’477 head of cattle. Agents believe the cattle presented in great condition as a result of an outstanding year in the South West. Grown Steers sold to a cheaper trend selling from 390c/kg-410c/kg with a top pen making 436c/kg or $2298.70. Weaner steers sold to strong demand making from 460-500c/kg and some lighter weaners making up to 578c/kg or to a top head price of $1953.67. Grown heifers sold exceptionally well following other saleyard results as they made from 370c/kg-410c/kg with top pen making 448c/kg or $1993.25. Weaners Heifers returning back to the paddock sold well with the smarter lines making 430c/kg-450c/kg with a top pen making 452c/kg or $1635.91. 

There were 74 PTIC females on offer today with the top pen going under the hammer for $2090.00 and  the balance averaging $1600-$1950. Cows and Calves topped at $3140 with the remainder of the yarding making between $1700-$2600. Dairy Steers sold to a cheaper trend as some F1 type steers made to 380c/kg and friesian steers making to a top of 376c/kg the balance averaging 300-330c/kg.
